DESCRIPTION:
APW - Illinois, Bunn Special, rare HC model mvt with fishscale damascene, 21J, 16S, gold-filled HC recase with attractive engraving detail, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, raised gold jewel settings, gold train, fishscale pattern nickel damascene, s#2577416. A very rare movement, the total production of the 21 jewel hunting case Bunn Special with fishscale damascene was only 100 made.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, likely bad balance staff, overhaul needed, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, plates with few mild fine to micro-fine scratches, some small marring immediately around case screw areas, few tiny specks of oxide to regulator assembly, mismatched case screws; dial with edge chip with few faint surrounding hls at setting lever, small edge chip under bezel at 6, short associated hl at 6, faint hl within seconds-register, reverse of dial has been inspected and does have correct feet positions for this HC model mvt; fine hands with oxide, hour with mild bend before spade; case shows light wear, scattered tiny nicks along band, dent to lower portion of cuvette, no exterior dents, excellent engraving detail, few strips of wear to brass to band, bezel, and pendant, few tiny spots of tarnish to cuvette; tight brassy bow, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
